Chronic Headache Pain and Migraine Pain Relief

New Treatment Breakthrough even after years of headaches!

What can be worse than persistent, constant HEADACHE? Answer, NOTHIN'; you can't think, you can't see, you can't do. All you can do is grimace at the pain and wonder if it will ever go away.

I've been working with patients with intense headache for over 10 years now. Back in 2004 I passed my Diploma in Indian Head Massage which promised it could help with headaches, and to be fair, it did, up to a point. If the headache was surface muscle related, then you would get somewhere, even if it wasn't long-term.

I wanted more than that, my patients deserved more than that. And here's the story of how I developed this new treatment. If after reading this you find that you can relate to what I'm saying, or can see the logic of my approach, then please, please make the appointment and lets get started on finding a way through your headache pain. Even if you've had it for years, I know how cynical this can make anyone feel. Years of tablets, doctors appointments, MRI's and still no cure. That's bound to make you cynical, I know it would me. But if you can see through that, just maybe we can do something to help. Appointment link is below, at the bottom.

How many types of headache are there?
There are around 150 different types and reasons for getting a headache. These include tension headaches, migraine headaches, cluster headaches, hormone headaches, organic headaches, withdrawal headaches, rebound headaches, sinus headaches, mixed headaches (migraine and tension headaches combined) and acute or chronic headaches. This list is not exhaustive, and you may have another type. The point is:

Have you been suffering from crippling long-term headaches for weeks, months, years?
Lady With Tension Headache If yes, then it is you I am interested in, because it may be possible that help is at hand. I thought I'd write this article because for years now I've been developing new ways to help patients break the cycle of long-term headaches, and just recently the breakthrough came when I started to combine therapeutic techniques in very specific ways.

First though, you must get a diagnosis and examination by a doctor, either with, or without the customary MRI. This is to eliminate things like tumour, whiplash, infection, hormonal imbalance, trigger foods, sensory overload, concussion and many other conditions.

You will, more often than not, be on one or many types of medication. None of this will likely preclude you from being able to take advantage of this treatment.

By the time I get to see patients, they have normally been suffering with this for 2 to 3 years or more. They are usually on massive amounts of medication, and they are all totally at their wits end. Most are highly stressed in all areas of their lives and may even be suffering with debilitating symptoms, manifesting from the side effects of their medication. Many have spent years in highly stressful jobs, perhaps in computing, finance, or from paying close attention during intricate manufacture.

Is this a miracle cure?
No it's not, but it is uncannily positive and useful when the recipient is persistent in attendance. I would not blame you if you were sceptical about this, but here's my history and rational for why I think this works and why I hope you will give it a try.

As I said, in the early days, Indian Head Massage boasted it could help with headaches, and to some extent, for things like temperal headache, this was true. But it is not effective in all types of headache, especially long-term headache which usually are not only muscular in origin.

When I qualified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and quite by accident discovered it was useful for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), at the same time we also learned it was helpful for major headaches in these patients. If you're interested you can read more about this here. This was because, I discovered that by focusing the MLD on the Central Nervous System (CNS), it was having a major effect on the Chronic Fatigue.

I believe the theory that the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) becomes stagnant and toxic when the lymphatics slow down or become disrupted, and this can be a major contributor to chronic fatigue and the headaches that are so characteristic of the condition. It stands to reason that if the central nervous system is not renewing regularly, or becomes stagnant, it must also become de-oxygenated.
CSF is the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal column, supplying it with oxygen, nutrients, trace elements and minerals. We know from sports therapies that oxygen starvation in muscles causes pain. When you turn and move in your sleep, it is because the pooling, de-oxygenated blood on the down side is sending distress signals to the brain which makes you roll over in your sleep. That message is the equivalent of a pain signal. Oxygen deficiency causes you to breathe more deeply and faster than normal.
Lady with Migraine Headache
Everytime you breathe in, oxygen enters the blood and goes to the brain. The brain is oxy-greedy and demands around 20-25% of all the oxygen you breathe in. But if stress and tiredness slows down your breathing, reducing the oxygen content, and the CSF exchange becomes dysfunctional because of lifestyle, stress, or life events, then naturally, the brain receives less oxygen. We've already established that oxygen starvation results in pain. Who's to say that pain isn't experienced as headache?

And what does headache do? It stops you from doing anything. You are conserving energy and therefore oxygen. The one thing you can't do when you have a headache is burn lots of oxygen. It's not your breathing that's at fault, but your ability to absorb and use the oxygen you do breathe in.

That is the basis for this treatment program. Want to know more? If so, here's what we will do:

You need to commit to coming twice a week for several weeks, even more if you can find the time, but twice is generally ok. Then when you have the breakthrough, meaning more clear days than headache days, you can move to once a week. Then when you are headache free, you can stop coming, or, you can move to a monthly palliative care program. It's not a miracle cure, but a process of recovery, one in which time spent always sees the best results.

The treatment program includes the following:
  • Prone:
    1. Lymph Drainage Massage of the head, neck and whole spine
    2. Massage of the neck, shoulders and upper back
    3. Acupressure of points on the back and side of the head, the neck and shoulders
  • Supine:
    1. Lymph Drainage Massage towards the thoracic duct and right lymphatic duct, and then of the face, forehead, temples, jaw and frontal neck
    2. Massage of the fascial muscles and scalp
    3. Acupressure of all the facial points useful to stimulate vision, circulation, pain relief and energy/hormonal balance
  • Free CD: You will also receive a free copy of my Relaxation at the Beach CD

Remember, for your part, you need to commit to coming regularly, listen to the CD regularly and breathe properly (don't worry, I will show you how), and continue to take your medication for the time being.

As you see improvement, you will naturally want to reduce your medication (best take advice from your doctor before stopping them altogether). Once you reach this position, your meds will work better because you can step away from the constant saturation of pain killer and reduce your tolerance of them. Breathing exercises will help you to oxygenate the brain properly and the CD will help you to de-stress. The treatment will help to cleans the lymphatic system around the head, and kickstart efficient cerebral spinal fluid renewal.

When that happens - YOUR HEADACHES WILL GO!

Of course, everybody's different and some will respond faster than others, but so far, after many years of using and perfecting these techniques in practice, everyone has responded well to this treatment. This has been true even for those who have had constant headache for 3 years or more, and were so sceptical at first that it took a spouse or partner to drag them here kicking and screaming. It's funny really, I love sceptics and cynics. They are easier to convince than just about anyone.

Would you like to train in this technique? Are you a therapist? Do you have a practice of your own? Do you have clients, or patients, who suffer with major headache problems? Have you ever thought, 'I wish I could do something to help this person?' Would you be interested in learning how to perform this treatment on your patients?

It would give me great pleasure in training other therapists in these techniques. The real tragedy here is that I only have so much time to help the patients that come here to The Haven. They need to live nearby and so patients across the country are currently missing out on this opportunity to find some relief.

What I would like is to have a therapist from every hamlet, village, town and city across the UK, trained in these techniques. What a difference we could make! Anyway, if this interests you, please email me, and I will see what I can do about producing a training course, manual or DVD. If there is enough interested therapists out there, this will happen quite soon.

I know that years of headaches can drag you down. It can bring you to a very bad place. Depression and thoughts of self harm, however brief, are common. It is my desire with this treatment to bring you relief from your headaches, to afford you the joy and fulfillment that were yours before this terrible affliction took hold. If you still are having problems, I hope you have found this information useful and feel encouraged to give The Haven's headache management therapy a try. Please contact me if you want to find out about appointments and prices. I look forward to welcoming you soon. Phil.
