When there's nowhere else to goHave you tried everything and don't know where to turn next?Chronic medical conditions can leave you feeling helpless, hopeless, and worthless, with intense, unrelenting pain and little chance of relief. If this is the situation you find yourself in, please read on. Get help now: The impact of these feelings and the effect our beliefs have on our lives is unlimited, but this does not have to be negative. A change in one global belief can change every aspect of your life for the better. The number to call to book and visit The Haven Healing Centre, can be found below. I look forward to seeing you soon. Phil I can only imagine what it must be like to feel you have been everywhere, searching for help, and not getting the result you had hoped for, or expected. To possibly have started with a pain or discomfort, something not quite right, to searcing on the internet for a clue, and then to start the ball rolling to find a cause, a cure and then some recovery. You may have visited your doctor or other medical establishment, and received a prescription for some medication that would sort it out. And when, or if, that didn't work, either up the dose or change your medication to another brand or type. Expectantly you wait for something to happen. Then the tablets run out and the problem remains. So you go back, and back, and back, for tests, more tests, a scan, and by now the pain settles in for what seems like the long haul. Then, after complaining rather loudly, you may get a referral to a specialist and consultant, followed by more tests, and xrays, and scans, by which point somebody probably wants to cut something out of you. But then comes the warning, it may not work and if it doesn't, there is nothing else to offer you except palliative care in the form of physiotherapy, osteopathic or chiropractic treatments. What then? What do you do when that doesn't work either, and you've spent 1 or 2 years in pain, with nobody, apparently, listening to you. You may turn to homeopathy, acupuncture, bowen and all the other techniques that your mate down the pub has told you worked for them. That is very often how people hear of The Haven Healing Centre, and my practice here of hands on, physical therapy, emotional therapy and energy therapy. Either that or the internet (as you have done). The point is, quite often, by the time I see someone, they may have spent 2-3 years going round the system in circles. They are angry, skeptical, without any hope left at all, and so here they sit, filling in yet another intake form and wondering what the hell is going to happen next, and why the hell they ever listened to Joe Bloggs in the first place. But that's what I like best about this situation. You know, I thrive on having the most skeptical person in the world sat in front of me. They are the easiest people to convince than virtually anyone else. I know, once they can feel the difference of physical, hands on therapy, it's like pushing on magic buttons. Stuff happens! The skeptic becomes your biggest advocate, even when they can't explain why. Strange how often that happens. I've lost count of the number of patients that find themselves here at The Haven Healing Centre who, in the 2-3 years they've been in difficulty, have never been examined, or touched, or even looked at beyond examination of the xray or MRI. By definition of having come through the system, these are life's 'impossible cases'. People who have lost a great deal, if not all, hope. People who have repeatedly been told, 'there's nothing more I can do to help you'. And that's right of course. At that moment you come to the realization that the only person who can help me, is me! I have to decide, me! What was I thinking? Then you find yourself open to try the alternatives, the complementary, the unorthodox, without ever realizing they were here all along, ready and waiting for you to make the decision to help yourself. It's in that moment, that you begin to see progress. You start small, and make a little headway here and there, day by day. Small incremental steps of progress, that give you hope, and the courage to keep going, and not to give up. I know I keep bashing on about hands on physical therapy, and that's because when those 'impossible cases' walk through the door, I can already visualize them feeling better than before, better than yesterday, better than an hour ago. Patients are physically and emotionally relieved that something is being done for them. When all you're really doing is manipulating a little body tissue to give the mind the idea that there is something here that needs healing. And you keep doing that until the body makes its own headway and progresses toward the healing that you seek. Are you saying you can cure diseases, reverse aging and generally do miracles? No, I'm not saying that. But a patient with fibromyalgia who suffers from multiple points of pain, yet finds relief from the worst of those symptoms by some gentle massage strokes, can cope far better with the fibromyalgia, if it doesn't hurt so much. A patient with MS, who is plagued by jerking, numbness, dizziness, bad coordination, nausea and many other symptoms, can often find some relief from these symptoms by physical therapy, even reflexology. I could go on, but you get the idea. People can cope remarkably well with quite serious conditions if you can somehow help them with the symptoms. These are brave, brave people, who deserve better than they are perhaps getting at the moment. We spend so much time throwing drugs at various parts of the body, to mask the pain, or change our mental state, that the mind eventually gets the idea that there's nothing wrong and it's got nothing to do, so it stops trying, or gets exhausted from competing. It's not until you actually do something physical, something the mind can feel and respond to, that the brain wakes up to it's responsibilities and does something about it. Well, you know, I guess that's what's on offer here. A chance to try something new, something the body was designed to do all along. Move. And with that movement, manipulation, massage, trigger the body into firing up its own healing potential.
